On October 25, 2007 Josh survived a terrible crash at the Short Track Nationals in Little Rock, AR that left him paralyzed from the neck down. He has regained some movement in his arms and hands and the doctors are very hopeful. Beginning June 26, 2010 Josh has returned to Shepard’s Center in Atlanta for intensive physical therapy. He will stay in Atlanta for 4-6 weeks. Help Josh and his family defray the cost of the physical therapy; he has no insurance. You can follow Josh's progress on his CaringBridge page.
"I want to let you know what the Steve King Foundation has meant to me and my family. Your moral support has been greatly appreciated. As well as financial support, you have made it possible for us to stay at Shepherd Center in Atlanta, for three days. You will never know how much it means for you to support injured racing families. May God continue to bless you in all you do. Thanks from Lynn Howard and the entire Howard Racing Family." -Josh Howard
