Remembering Chase Allen Gibson

A special donation has been received honoring the life of Chase Allen Gibson.

Note from Chase's Mom, Sunny Klein
Hello, I had never heard of the Steve King Foundation until my 23 year old son, Chase passed away on November 8, 2016. This foundation was one of two different memorial suggestions for him. After reading Steve King’s story on the website, I know Chase would be happy knowing he was able to help this cause.
When I was reading about Steve I had to smile because he sounded so much like Chase. Chase’s grandfather and father raced but never as more than a hobby. He also helped his Papa (Marvin Gibson) farm from the time he was very young. His first job on the farm around age of 3 was riding in the truck with his Papa and opening and closing the gates for him. He loved helping on the farm and hoped to leave the Air Force to take over the farm.
Chase grew up going to dirt tracks, served as flagman at more than one and would help on any pit crew he could wiggle his way into. He would always throw in a hint to be able to drive their car for a race...ha ha. He just wanted to race, it was in his blood and he loved it. He built a mini-sprint with his best friend, John, but never really had the money or time to be a competitor.
On November 2nd at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Arkansas, Chase was helping unload a sprint car when he was injured by the trailer door. He had a severe head injury and passed away 6 days later. It was a devastating loss for us as you can all imagine. I just wanted to be able to share a bit of Chase with the people at the Steve King Foundation and thank you for starting such a great foundation. I have no doubt many people familiar with this foundation had come into contact with Chase in some way or another. Chase never met a stranger and was well loved by his racing family and military family. He was such a great son and sibling as well. We miss him very much.

Sincerely,
Chase’s Mom
